So, If you are going to go into Africa with a 20 year old vehicle it is imperative t0 know your vehicle inside and out.
Little things are important, like for instance the fuel gauge. The old analogue gauges are more “general indication” devices.
This is why I undertook a field fuel gauge trial this week. This is me and my buss on Kyalami Road Midrand. As you might notice she now has a brand new very expensive howling moon rooftop tent (sun roof included).
Hehe needless to say my wife came and saved me! The upside of this experience is that we finally go to use my fuel jerry cans which I bought last year to whether the energy storm by powering my generator.
The bus has now been fitted with a:
- 67 litre water reservoir in the back.
- aluminium root rack from Frontrunner
- Howling Moon Stargazer tent (with drop room)
Things are taking shape, I cannot wait.
